Tiznit

The town of silversmiths, ringed by ramparts, fifteen minutes from Aglou beach

AI-generated illustration

Founded in the late 19th century by Sultan Moulay Hassan I, Tiznit is surrounded by ramparts several kilometres long, pierced by monumental gates. The town is renowned for its silversmiths, who work silver in the Amazigh tradition: brooches, necklaces and bracelets fill the jewellers' souk in the heart of the medina. Tiznit is also a good base for Aglou beach, about fifteen kilometres away, and for the coast of Mirleft and Sidi Ifni.
