Rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake, Agadir is the country's main beach resort. Its bay of around ten kilometres is sheltered, the beach is lifeguarded and winters stay mild, which makes it an easy choice for families. To the north, Taghazout and Tamraght welcome surfers; inland, Paradise Valley and Taroudant make good day trips.
