Imlil and the High Atlas
Berber villages and trails at the foot of Toubkal

Imlil is a village at around 1,700 metres, at the head of a valley of walnut trees and terraced orchards. It is the starting point for climbing Toubkal (4,167 m), the highest peak in North Africa, and for many day hikes between Berber villages. The road from Marrakech runs via Asni; many travellers come for the day, but a night in a guesthouse lets you walk early and enjoy the quiet.
